This is the intro to my album (unmixed and unmastered, mind you). The idea behind is basically that removed from everything we all go through, we all have heartbeats and we all go through the same thing.
removed from the years,
the heartbeat is all we know…
all we know,
all we know,
all we know…
Quit the bitching on your blog and stop pretending art is hard, just limit yourself to three chords and do not practice daily, you’ll minimize some stranger’s sadness with a piece of wood and plastic, holy fuck, it’s so fantastic!” – Amanda Palmer’s “Ukulele Anthem”.
By making this official, I’m making a plan. Seeing as how The Faucet EP basically failed due to computer crashing issues and losing everything music-wise, I’ve started over naturally. However, I don’t want those songs lost in the abyss of dead hard drive space because I’m really proud of them so I’m combining the two EP’s “The Heartbeat EP” & “The Faucet EP” into one full album – “The Heartbeat”.
The move from EP to Album was mainly inspired by the amount of songs that I have now, a general concept, and the fact that an album seems bigger and more exciting than an EP. The concept is that “removed from the years, the heartbeat is all we know”, which basically means we’re human, we all experience the same things generally, and we all have one thing in common – a heartbeat. I think it represents the majority of what I went through during the 21 years of my life and hopefully it will help you deal with those same issues too.
Realistically, I’d like this to be released by or on my 22nd birthday – 4/21/2012 but we’ll see how it goes.
I can’t wait for you to hear this.
Musicians get paid for the long flights,
the shitty hotels,
the crap food
and the lonely nights…
the music is free.
